Podcast Episode 2: Setting Your Course
“A person may plan his path, but Adonai directs his steps.”
2019, here we are…thank God for blessings us to see another New Year!
The New Year always presents the time when individuals make resolutions.
Resolutions to lose weight, be a better person, save money, be a better spouse, eat healthier, exercise regularly…and the list goes on.
People usually always have good intentions to keep those resolutions, only to discover that 2-3 months into the year, what they committed to stick to falls by the wayside.
Have you been there? I know that I have. I make a commitment and promise to stay on course, but somehow, my resolution was interrupted by external distractions, every day cares or internal forces stemming from the lack of motivation and discipline.
Setting Your Course
Over the years, I have personally, I let go of making resolutions. Instead, I have found out that I achieve greater results by focusing more on setting my course according to God’s blueprint for my whole life which includes my body, soul and spirt. I love this approach because God’s plan has always been holistic. So, in 2019 instead of making a Resolution, I want to encourage you to Set Your Course according to God’s plan.
Set as defined by Merriam-Webster means:
to fix or decide on as a time, limit, or regulation
to establish as the highest level or best performance
to adjust (a device and especially a measuring device) to a desired position
In 2019, I challenge you to decide on embracing God’s plan for your health
In 2019, I challenge you to establish God’s standard for healthy living in your life so that you can perform at the highest level or best level of performance
In 2019, I challenge you to adjust your mind, towards Kingdom-minded thinking and your lifestyle, living the way that God has always wanted you to live
In My Personal Life, I Set My Course Daily
For me, being a health evangelist or health coach is not just something that I do. It is my lifestyle. After years of experiencing a number of health challenges, I was at the end of my rope and let go of my way, passing trends and ineffective medical advice that did not work. And by intentionally Setting My Course, I was blessed to overcome depression, Lyme Disease, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and as a veteran, symptoms associated with Post Traumatic Stress.
Every day, I setting the course for my physical body by doing things that are beneficial to my body. Eating clean organic, Non-GMO food, I drink clean filtered water, exercise regularly, physical rest, I care for my skin and hair. I see and treat my body as God sees my body as a living breathing holy temple, where His presence resides.
“Don’t you know that you people are God’s temple,
and that God’s Spirit lives in you?”
I Corinthians 3:16
I setting the course for my soul. The soul is made up your mind, will, emotions, imagination and intellect. Based on Romans 12:1-2. I renew my mind daily by renewing and feeding my soul with positive nourishing and life giving activities.
1 I exhort you, therefore, brothers, in view of God's mercies, to offer yourselves as a sacrifice, living and set apart for God. This will please him; it is the logical "Temple worship" for you. 2 In other words, do not let yourselves be conformed to the standards [of ineffective systems]. Instead, keep letting yourselves be transformed by the renewing of your minds; so that you will know what God wants and will agree that what He wants is good, satisfying and able to succeed.
I renew my mind by reading positive books such as Ever-Increasing Faith by Smith Wigglesworth, Becoming by Michelle Obama. I surround myself with people who are creative and those who are emotionally healthy.
One of the principles that I share with my clients called is Primary Food. Primary Food is not about food on your plate, but it’s about non-physical food, it’s intangible food, in fact, you can call it Soul Food. It’s about doing those things that bring you joy and make you laugh out loud. There was a time in my life when someone actually said, I never saw you laugh out loud or have fun. I’m blessed to say that I am living in a joy filled space where my days are graced with more love and laughter because I commit to set the course for my soul. Maybe for you, Soul Food is enjoying your favorite hobby, spending time with your spouse and children, serving others in your community, taking a healing Essential Oil bubble bath while listening to your favorite music, working your dream job so that it’s not actually work.
Last, but not least, but the most important of these is setting the course for my spirit. This is the most important part of my day. I make a daily habit of reading my bible, meditating on scriptures, praying in the morning, mid-day prayer and I read and pray before I go to sleep at night. When I don’t commune with God and align myself with Him spiritually, I feel totally out of balance, out of balance. My axis is out of alignment so to speak. In my book, Rock Your World Naturally, 7 Divine Keys to Unlock Extraordinary Health, I talk about aligning your personal axis.
"The Earth’s axis is an invisible line that runs through the north and south poles around which the Earth spins. Our Creator tilted the Earth’s axis at the exact degree, keeping our world, universe, and all of creation in perfect alignment. Scientific studies have shown that if the Earth’s axis was not perfectly titled, the result would be total chaos. There would be no variation in the duration of daylight throughout the year, there would be no seasons, and agriculture would be affected to the point of no growing season, familiar annual cycles that animals exhibit, such as migration, food storage, mating, and hibernation, might change or cease to exist. Life as we know it on Planet Earth would be disastrous. Much like the earth, every individual possesses a personal axis, an invisible and internal spiritual place that when properly aligned with God brings rest, peace, and balance."
Setting your course in 2019 for your health is about creating and maintaining daily lifestyle habits for your body, soul and spirit. I want you to ask yourself?
Do I see my body as God sees me? As a living temple.
What can I do, to take care of my body, soul and spirit in a better way every day?
Do you have a vision for your health?
The journey to experiencing greater health begins with having a vision for your health.
Solomon wrote, “Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man]—blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he.”
When you follow the vision, the plan that God has for your health as outlined in the scriptures blessings will follow, happiness, good health a godly witness.
What is God’s vision for your health?
“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that
all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”
3 John 2
He wants your entire being well in body, soul and spirit…
You may be saying, I’ve tried so many diet plans, fads and health trends and I have never been successful. I am still sick, I have low energy, my sickness is progressing and not getting any better. I’m frustrated.
My friend, that’s just it, when you try systems that are outside of God’s original design, you may achieve temporary results, but will never attain life time change.
Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever.” God does not change not, He is consistent, He is stable, He is constant, He is perfect in all of His ways.
The same plan that God established in the Garden of Eden has never changed. In 2019, Set Your Course for your body, mind and spirit and let go of systems that have not worked for you and embrace God’s ways regarding your health.
As we launch into 2019, I want to show the steps to take to Set Your Course. I want to teach you how to properly recalibrate your life or adjust your life precisely for a particular function and purpose. The ultimate purpose is to glorify God in your physical body.
Prayer for Health in Body, Soul and Spirit
Heavenly Father, I come to you now in the Name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ the Messiah. Father as we launch into 2019 and commit to set our course, I lift up everyone under the sound of my voice. I ask You to heal them of any sickness or disease of any kind. I ask You now to release Your healing virtue, Your miracle virtue into their body, Your healing anointing, Your miracle anointing from the top of their head to the soles of their feet. Heavenly Father, You are Jehovah Rapha, the Lord God that heals and I ask You to heal and make them whole again. I ask You to put a hedge of protection around their lives. I apply the Blood of Jesus Christ over them from the top of their head, to the soles of their feet. I ask You to fill them with Your Holy Spirit; with all the fruits of Your Holy Spirit; Your love, Your joy, Your peace, Your patience, Your kindness, Your gentleness, Your faithfulness, and Your self-control. Father, I thank You that You sent Your son to the cross for us to take all our sicknesses and diseases to the cross with Him. I thank You that according to Isaiah 53:4-5 that every stripe Jesus took on the cross was for our healing and wholeness. I declare and decree that we are healed and set free according to Your Word in Jesus’ Amen.
